The blue iris of the 'eyes' is added first .. followed by a circle of white around the blue.

A circle of red - from ground-up Moroccan Prosser beads - is drawn around the white.
 The rest of the spaces on the sphere are filled in with yellow.

Black dots are applied over the yellow and the bead is ready to be left to dry for 8 hours before firing. Note that although the decoration using different colours was a continuous process .. none of the colours have smudged nor are any residues apparent on her fingers.

Step 3 - The Firing
Wet sand is laid on a battered metal plate which has numerous holes drilled in its base ....
